Writer Hanns Kräly (1884-1950); President of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences William Churchill de Mille (1878-1955), Mary Pickford (1892-1979) and Warner Baxter (1889-1951) attending the Oscars in Hollywood, California, USA, 3rd April 1930. Kräly won the trophy for his play 'The Patriot', Pickford won for her performance in 'Coquette' and Baxter won for his performance in 'Old Arizona'.
Baxter was only the 2nd actor (first was Emmil Jannings the previous year) to win the Oscar. Baxter was the first to get it for a talking movie - 'In old Arizona' in which he personifies Cisco Kid.
